3. Proceeding with Rocky Linux 9 Installation
Start the virtual machine and select Install Rocky Linux 9 from the boot menu to run the Anaconda installer.
3.1. Language and Initial Setup
Select the installation language and proceed to the installation summary screen.
3.2. Installation Destination and User Setup (Crucial Steps)
- Installation Destination: Select the disk and choose Automatic Partitioning.
- Root Password: Set a secure password for the root account.
- User Creation: Create a standard user account.
3.3. Software Selection (Key Step)
Click on Software Selection in the left panel.
- Server Environment Recommendation: Select Minimal Install. This option is the lightest and most secure, suitable for installing only necessary services manually.
Once all settings are complete, click Begin Installation. Reboot the VM after installation is finished and unmount the ISO.
